Please join us this week in praying for the following people and situations:
For Our Country
For the Reverend and Mrs. (Jean) Jesse Truvillion who were with us today. Reverend Truvillion has asked us to be in prayer for them and their Mission Team as they travel to the Galveston/Houston area in a few weeks. He shared with us that one of the neighborhoods they will be visiting and ministering to has 2 houses out of 94 homes left standing in the wake of Hurricane Ike. Of course, we continue to pray for all of the people who were affected by the devastating storms of this Hurricane season.
Particularly, remember the Nation of Haiti, which has been pummeled by four named storms this summer and is still reeling after Ike. Hundreds have died, whole communities have been obliterated and crops destroyed in a nation that is already extremely vulnerable. PC (U.S.A.) mission personnel, church partners and other aid organizations are working as quickly as possible to offer support to thousands who are seeking to restore some order to an absolutely catastrophic situation. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is present, providing leadership in assessing damage, and providing spiritual and physical support to those in greatest need. It is clear that the road to recovery will be challenging. You can learn how the church is helping with recovery, and what you can do, by visiting PDA (Presbyterian Disaster Assistance).
Del Turner, Jr. who continues to recover from a stroke and remains in Intensive Care in the Brunswick Hospital
Neil Munch, grandfather of David Day, who is recovering from a hip injury
