Please be in prayer for the following people and situations this week.

I am very sad to have to tell you all that Joye Johnson passed away this morning. Joye was the Principal at George Washington Carver Elementary School here in Richmond Hill. Please keep her family, friends and her faculty and staff at Carver in your prayers. Also pray for all of the children who have known her and loved her throughout the years. I know she will be missed dearly by all. I will let you know if I hear further information about funeral arrangements.

Please pray for Jennifer and Ricky Blanton and for Jennifer’s Dad, John Ross, who is facing complications during his treatment for cancer. Jennifer has worked very closely with Joye Johnson over the years and her death this morning is especially difficult for her and her coworkers at Carver. Pray for Jennifer’s health and that she will be strengthened during this time in every way.

Mary Worsham will be having surgery tomorrow at Candler Hospital. Please keep her and Marshall in your prayers.

We were happy to celebrate Kathy Prusa’s birthday with her yesterday and hope she had a beautiful day.

Praise for all of our graduates who were honored Sunday at Church and prayers for bright futures for each and every one of them.

Traveling mercies for the Richmond Hill Odyssey of the Mind teams as they travel to the World Finals in Maryland this week.

For Lynnette Buzzell and her family as they prepare to relocate this week. We wish them safety in their travels and happiness in their new home.

Praise and prayers for a beautiful wedding for Bryan Funk and his fiancé Liz in Orlando on May 24th- Bryan is the son of Scott and Shirley Funk who were very active members of our Church when they lived in Richmond Hill a few years back J. I was unable to attend Bryan’s wedding this weekend, but I did speak with Shirley at length this morning. She said the wedding was beautiful. David Long performed the ceremony and of course Mellie was with him which was very special for everyone. They did have a very difficult week leading up to the wedding involving Bryan’s eyesight. He ended up having to have emergency eye surgery for a torn retina on Thursday and then he lost sight in his other eye due to a problem with the lens in his eye. He and Shirley were unable to attend the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner on Friday night. Thank God that Bryan’s grandfather was able to have a pair of glasses made for Bryan Saturday morning that compensated for the lost lens in his left eye, so that Bryan was able to see Liz walk down the aisle. Please be in prayer for this young couple as they face many challenges ahead of them with Bryan’s health. Bryan is completing his first year of law school in Florida and Liz is a teacher. Thank you.
